What's New
Notable changes in YomiAI.
2.6.4Latest
October 18, 2026
- Fixed bugs affecting sync, widgets and other areas, and improved stability.
2.6.3
October 8, 2026
- On Android, the sign-in screen now shows your Google accounts automatically when you open it (only if the device has a Google account, at most once per app launch).
- Minor improvements.
2.6.2
October 7, 2026
- YomiAI now fits the iPhone Duo display. When it’s open, the article list and the article appear side by side.
- On an open iPhone Duo or an iPhone in landscape, the app icon at the top of the side menu sat too close to the screen edge. It now has more room.
- Fixed counts in English showing as plural when there’s only one, such as “1 articles” (including the home screen widgets).
- On tablets in English, the digest summary on Home could be cut off. It now fits (Pro).
- Improved stability.
2.6.1
October 4, 2026
- When you refresh AI recommendations right after adding a feed, articles from that feed are now included (Pro). This improvement is already live without updating the app.
- Improved stability.
2.6.0
September 30, 2026
- Added Muted keywords to Settings. Pick presets such as Politics, Sports or Spoilers, or type your own words, and articles whose titles or descriptions contain them are hidden from Home, feed article lists, AI recommendations, the digest, related articles and the home screen widgets. Hidden articles are not marked as read. You can show them for a moment from “Show” at the end of a list, and they still appear in search and bookmarks. Your chosen topics and keywords are saved to your account and work on your other devices, and you can also pick topics to hide when you first set up the app.
- You now choose the translation language once, the first time you translate, and can change it later under “Translation language” in Settings. Long-press the translate button to translate just one article into another language.
- Added “Translate articles when opened” to Settings (off by default). Articles in a language other than your translation language are translated automatically on your device. You can also turn it on where you first choose your translation language.
- Added “Save articles for offline” to Settings (Pro). It saves article text and images so you can read the full text without a connection, and “Save now” repeats your last settings. When you open an article you can’t read in full because you’re offline, a notice points you to the save settings.
- You can now stop a translation and go back to the original by tapping the translate button while it is translating.
- Fixed the language picker appearing on the first translation after every launch, even when a translation language was already chosen.
- Fixed digest read-aloud reading topics hidden by category lock (Pro).
- Fixed tapping a topic on the digest widget sometimes opening a different topic when the widget had not been updated yet (Pro).
2.5.9
September 26, 2026
- Tap the feed name on an article to open that feed’s article list, scrolled to the article you were reading. On tablets it opens side by side with your feeds and the article.
- The “Open in Browser” button at the end of an article is now always shown, whether or not the full text is displayed.
- The AI digest widget on the home screen no longer says the digest will appear “tomorrow morning.” It now tells you why it is empty, for example when the digest couldn’t be summarized by AI or when you haven’t added any feeds yet, and tapping it opens the digest.
- Fixed the morning and evening digests sometimes showing only a list of articles instead of an AI summary (Pro). This fix already works without updating the app.
2.5.8
September 23, 2026
- Fixed the app closing unexpectedly right after launch on some Android devices with a large number of saved articles.
- Fixed AI recommendations not being created right after you subscribe to Pro (Pro). Depending on the screen you were on when you subscribed, they did not appear until you went back to the home screen.
- Fixed “Couldn’t save your change” appearing after you read an article even though it had been saved. This mostly happened on iPhone, and the fix already works without updating the app.
- Fixed an ad space on the home screen staying blank right after launch on Android.
- Moved the “Open in Browser” button from the top of the article screen to the end of the article. It appears when the full article isn’t shown (when Full article view is off, or when the full article couldn’t be loaded).
- Updated the libraries the app is built on.
2.5.7
September 18, 2026
- Fixed sign-in that could fail and leave you stuck on the login screen, showing only “Login failed” however many times you tried. It happened most often outside Japan and on some network setups. Sign-in goes through after this update; if it still does not, the app now tells you to turn off any VPN or Private DNS and try again in a moment. The sign-in buttons also show a loading indicator while your device is checked.
- Fixed articles on some sites that showed almost none of their images. Sites that add their images only after the page opens may still not show them.
- Fixed small images in an article that were stretched across the full width and looked blurry. Small images now stay their own size and stay sharp, and the unexplained blank bands that sometimes sat between paragraphs are gone.
- Fixed dividing lines in an article that left about a screenful of blank space. The line, which looked more like a thick box, is now a single thin rule that blends with the text.
2.5.6
September 15, 2026
- Fixed an issue where the digest banner on the home screen could disappear and come back (Pro). It happened when the connection was unstable.
- Updated the libraries the app is built on.
2.5.5
August 28, 2026
- Fixed home screen widgets on Android that could stop updating with new articles (Pro). It happened most often when the app had not been opened for a while, and on some devices the widget stayed stuck.
- Fixed feed search results that could show garbled description text. Descriptions that arrive unreadable are now left out.
2.5.4
August 26, 2026
- Fixed a crash that could close the app a few seconds after opening it, on some Android devices. It happened when ad loads in the article list overlapped.
2.5.3
August 26, 2026
- Articles opened from “AI picks” can now be swiped through, moving between the picks themselves (Pro). “Play from here” also continues through the picks only.
- Adding a feed is easier to follow. You can see whether your input was treated as a URL or a site name, and try the other way when nothing is found. On the free plan you can also see how many feeds you have left.
2.5.2
August 23, 2026
- Fixed a problem where the app could fail to open, or take a long time to start, on some Android devices. A check that runs at launch could keep you on the loading screen. iPhone and iPad were not affected.
2.5.1
August 21, 2026
- The article list now shows which article is being read aloud.
- With on-device summarization, the next article is summarized ahead of time (Pro, supported devices). One neighbouring article is summarized while you read the current one, so it is ready when you swipe.
- Articles opened from “AI picks” no longer switch when you swipe left or right, which used to move you to unrelated articles from the list.
- Fixed the read-aloud and translate buttons disappearing for good when “Show full text” is toggled, along with the display glitches around the same switch.
- Read aloud now stops when you sign out or delete your account, so the previous account’s article no longer stays on the lock screen. The “Summarization” setting is reset at the same time.
2.5.0
August 20, 2026
- Summaries generated entirely on your device (supported devices, Pro). No connection needed, so it works offline, and the article is never sent anywhere. Opening an article summarizes it automatically.
- Supported devices: some Android devices such as Pixel 10 and later, and iPhone 15 Pro and later or M1 iPad and later on iOS 26 (Apple Intelligence required). If Settings lets you pick “On this device”, your device is supported; if it does not, you can now check why.
- Switch between the cloud and your device anytime under “Summarization” in Settings.
- On iPhone and iPad, the “AI summary language” setting now applies to on-device summaries too.
- Android 8.0 or later is now required (previously 7.0). Devices on Android 7.x will not receive this or later updates, because on-device summarization needs a capability only available from 8.0. The iPhone and iPad requirement (iOS 17 or later) is unchanged.
- Summaries are no longer offered when “Show full text” is off, so you never get a summary of text that is not on screen.
- Summaries now last as long as the article does. Previously the oldest ones were dropped once a count limit was reached. Clearing the cache now clears summaries with it.
- Settings is split into Content, Notifications, Display, Summaries and read aloud, and App.
- These release notes can now be opened from Settings.
2.4.6
August 18, 2026
- Settings was redesigned as one rounded card per item.
- Article titles and body text can now be selected and copied with a long press.
- Article lists show a placeholder while loading and ease into the real articles.
- Fixed the app bar coming to rest with both its large and small titles visible.
- Fixed two loading indicators stacking on the home screen.
- Tidied the spacing on the cache management screen.
2.4.5
August 17, 2026
- Fixed the morning notification continuing to fire after signing out or deleting your account.
- Fixed the notification row disappearing when scheduling failed, and surfaced when a notification channel is blocked on the device.
- Limited the back-key handling to Android.
2.4.4
August 13, 2026
- Pressing back twice on a tab screen now exits the app (Android).
- Fixed some actions failing silently, including sign-out and undoing “mark all as read”.
- Updated Flutter and the app’s libraries.
- Added a check for whether the morning notification actually arrives (for diagnosing delivery problems).
2.4.3
August 4, 2026
- Added an “AI summary language” setting: match the app, or match the article.
- Fixed the font size setting not applying to article body text.
- Fixed summaries sometimes being translated into the wrong language.
- Fixed a batch of defects found by a full review of the app.
2.4.2
August 2, 2026
- Fixed the app sometimes closing when you pressed back.
- Fixed home screen widget refreshes stopping partway through.
- Fixed one bad feed stopping read-state sync entirely.
- Tidied the in-article ad presentation (margins, and when the “Ad” label appears).
2.4.1
July 30, 2026
- Switching tabs now fades.
- Rounded the popup menus and put the app icon on the tablet side rail.
- Moved the in-article ad above the body, and made ad text follow the app's font size setting.
- Fixed read-aloud controls appearing on the digest screen for free plans.
- Fixed the read-aloud mini player being misaligned on tablets.
2.4.0
July 27, 2026
- On tablets and in landscape, navigation moved to the left of the screen, giving the article list and body more room.
- Tap an image in an article to view it full screen. Pinch to zoom, and swipe to move between the images in that article.
- The article list layout can be set to Standard, Large card, or Text only.
- Fixed content overlapping display cutouts in landscape, and app bar actions being hard to reach on narrow screens.
- Fixed the article list shifting as images finished loading.
Releases before 2.4.0 are not listed.
